For the lovers of the beach, moving out to a beach town probably sounds like a dream come to reality. It feels good to spend your leisure time on the sea shores, in the water, having a drink you like as you enjoy the sunshine and the warm weather. Who would not like this kind of life? And so, if you want it you can have it. There are many opportunities when living in coastal towns, compared to life in any other area. The advantages of living in a beach town are for your entire family and the in particular young ones. Below are some of the benefits of raising kids in a beach town:

The beach is the best zone for the kids

While living in a beach town, you can teach your children to water sports and provide to them a healthy environment to grow up to. The beach towns contribute more opportunities for the kids to play together and get to socialize with one another. Away from the beach, the winter season allows them to play outside just for a short time and gather at home. On the other hand, being on the beach, they can spend some more time outside, which is also an added advantage for their health.

A summer full of water sports

The beach is the perfect abode for someone who lives and breathes water sports. Everything from paddle boarding, fishing, swimming, and surfing. Children love being in the water, so it is clear that they will enjoy this kind of life. Among all the reasons, the weather is one of the main reasons why people like moving to the coastal regions. Nothing feels right like sleeping at night with a cool ocean breeze. Many people believe that the sound of the ocean waves can put you in a profound and relaxing sleep. The air from the sea is also essential for the kids’ health due to the negative ions. Coastal towns are the places to live for the people who don’t like putting on several layers of clothing and to those who are tired and no longer want to pay those heating bills for their cars when they drift on the ice. Beach town, is a better option for the ones looking for warm weather to live to, either for an occasion or a permanent stay.

Traveling with Children: What to Pack

May 21, 2017 By Michael Campbell

Vacation is finally here! You’re all packed and all that’s left is the 10 HOUR drive or flight to your destination! Here’s a few quick tips to remember before setting out to create family memories!

MUST HAVES

Toothbrush, Medicine and a First Aid kit are always the first things I pack. All kids get nicked up and sick from time to time. Plus nobody likes bad breath! This is the basic starting point for all trips!

Treats for the Trip

Whether you are taking a plane, train, boat or the open road your kids will get hungry!

Healthy snacks are an incredible way to keep children of all ages on their best behavior! My kids are the exception to the rule! But normally LESS sugar and sweets equals less stress for you! It also increases the chances of the dreamed about NAP TIME as well! Go easy on the drinks to limit bathroom breaks and get you to your destination in NO TIME!

Clothes, Clothes and More Clothes

I’ve always leaned to the side of less is more when traveling. My wife would beg to differ and would always pack two to three additional outfits depending on the age of the child. Emergencies happen! It doesn’t happen often, but I do agree with her on this as packing a little heavy sure beats having to buy clothing on the road!

Comfortable Toddler Shoes

How SUPER awesome are these toddler shoes? A happy toddler equals a happy mommy. and we all know how hard it is to get and keep shoes on the baby in the family! Regardless which shoes you take just make sure they are easy to get on! (I usually stick with bright colors so they stick out when I’m searching for one!) Make sure to pack multiple pairs in case of an emergency though!

Trouble Leaving Your Pet Behind?

It’s hard leaving your best friend behind. But sometimes it’s necessary, and if you don’t have the right group of friends or family to watch over them it can put a damper on your whole vacation. This is quality time with your family that you won’t be getting back! Seek out a pet boarding facility and let your K-9 get pampered while your away!

Entertainment

Most vehicles are equipped these days with televisions and DVD players to keep our children busy. But don’t forget the most important part of the FAMILY vacation! To interact with each other. You can play 20 Questions, or trivia games (I always loved to see who could name the most US State capitols). Turn the phones off and try to concentrate on an amazing vacation together!

In Closing

Just remember the old saying “Time Flies!” Kids grow up way to fast these days. Love them, try new things and remember to keep your significant other happy and in the loop at all times! They will be there when the kids take off to college!

Should I Bring My Dog on Vacation?

May 21, 2017 By Michael Campbell

I think it’s fair to say that you can travel with your dog on vacation these days, because there are many major hotels and motel chains who welcome our four legged friends. If you have well behaved dogs, many restaurants will allow you to bring them along to eat at outdoors. This is one reason many people seek out professional Austin dog training. Another option is that you can leave them on a parking lot, where you can watch them as you dine. Additionally, there are dog sitters in most states, where they will help with walking your dog or dog boarding.

For many of us, bringing the dog along makes a vacation much more fun. You can take the dog on an outdoor adventure, camping, sightseeing, hiking, swimming, and to the beach. You can gather information on how your dog can enjoy a relaxing vacation at a pet-friendly resort, cabin or boating trip and other outdoor destinations, where you can spend hours with your friendly pet.

Before you plan to take your dog, you must take into consideration whether or not your dog have any special needs or limitations, enjoy being around other people or dogs, or is he or she quiet or can remain calm during your vacation experience. If your dog have limitations, you may want to consider taking him or her to a quiet lake vacation, instead of a bustling town or city, where he may not behave. You may also want to find out whether there will be extra fees at the hotel/motel, should your dog have to be kept on a leash, or whether they are allowed on pathways, walkways, or trails.

When you are set to go, you must pay attention to whether or not your dog is relaxed on a long ride, avoid getting car sick, and you may want to make frequent stops, to avoid potty troubles. You also want to make sure that you have brought a brush, tick or flea products, ID tags, and a blanket, so your dog will get and maintain the appropriate care.

Once you get to your destination, if you are planning to take a long walk or go hiking, you want to protect your dog’s feet and bring some booties, extra food and snacks, and if your are getting in or out of your vehicle- remember to roll down the window, so that your dog can get the appropriate air to breathe. After a few times you traveling with your dog, you will be well prepared for a perfect vacation with your four legged pet.
