Top 10 Florida Attractions

May 21, 2017 By Michael Campbell

Florida is one of the top vacation spots in the world. And if you visit here you will soon figure out why. It is so sunny and gorgeous out the year round that it is known as the Sunshine State. But the great weather is only one of the drawing points. The state is literally dotted with some of the best vacation spots in the world. Here are ten of what we consider the best of them.

  1. Disney World

Is anyone surprised that we consider this the best of Florida’s best? Probably not. There is a great likelihood that Disney World is one of the first things that comes to your mind at the mention of Florida. Sadly, some who want to do so, don’t visit while in Florida because they deem in financially impossible because tickets are so expensive. However, there are a lot of different types of tickets to choose from and many different hotel rooms for any range of budget. This means that visiting Disney World is affordable for any budget.

  1. Orlando

Since Disney World takes up a lot of Orlando, you might think we are being redundant and saying pretty much the same thing. However, there is a whole lot more top-class vacation sites in Orlando than just Disney World. There are hundreds of great hotels and restaurants, Universal Orlando, Seaworld Orlando, many resorts, golf courses, and dinner theaters. And that’s just getting started. Orlando is literally covered with fun things to do.

  1. St. Augustine

St. Augustine lays claim to being one of the oldest inhabited cities on the entire continent. That is why it is no surprise that the city is oozing with historic charm. But the history—as rich as it is—is only one of the drawing points. It is also rife with its own unique attractions, fantastic shopping areas, and some of the best beach areas in the world.

  1. The Keys

One of the most beautiful natural wonders in the world is the Florida Key’s. This is a string of islands that are connected only by the Overseas Highway. Every year millions of tourists flock here to dive and fish. Every island has its own distinct flavor for whatever tourists are looking for, from fun, modern life to quaint old communities.

  1. Amelia Island

This is Florida’s northernmost island. It’s 26-mile coastline is dotted with quaint resorts, cottages, villas, and hotels. You will also find fantastic dining, shopping, golf courses, and tennis courts in large doses. There are accommodations here for all price ranges so you don’t have to avoid the area because you think it will all be over your budget.

  1. Miami

Miami has everything a modern loving vacationer could desire, beaches, palms, ocean view’s, all right beside the best of shopping, fashion, and entertainment. There is also an amazing night life in Miami, which is a popular vacation and home for multiple celebrities. It is also a superb place for romantic date nights. It certainly helps that this modern paradise on earth is girded with year-round great weather.

  1. Daytona Beach

This 23-mile stretch boasts some of the most beautiful and white beaches in the world. It is also one of the best and most popular places for family trips. While the beach is by far the main attraction here, it is surrounded by miles of attractions and recreation areas.

  1. Panama City Beach

In the spring this beach is an incredibly hopping Spring Break party area. The rest of the year, it is one of the best family vacation beaches that you will find. It is so good a beach, in fact, that famed geologist Dr. Stephen Leatherman named in the #1 beach in the world.

  1. Ft. Myers/Sanibel Island

This area was very hard hit by Hurricane Charley in 2004. However, in the years since they have made an incredible comeback. There are many amazing nature and vacation related things to do all around the island. Some of the best: J.N. “Ding” Darling Wildlife Refuge, and world-class shopping and dining areas.

  1. Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater

This gorgeous stretch with its white beaches lies along the Gulf of Mexico coast. These areas offer lots of great city life right on the edge of the waters. In fact these waterfronts are some of the most memorable you will ever see.

Should I Bring My Dog on Vacation?

May 21, 2017 By Michael Campbell

I think it’s fair to say that you can travel with your dog on vacation these days, because there are many major hotels and motel chains who welcome our four legged friends. If you have well behaved dogs, many restaurants will allow you to bring them along to eat at outdoors. This is one reason many people seek out professional Austin dog training. Another option is that you can leave them on a parking lot, where you can watch them as you dine. Additionally, there are dog sitters in most states, where they will help with walking your dog or dog boarding.

For many of us, bringing the dog along makes a vacation much more fun. You can take the dog on an outdoor adventure, camping, sightseeing, hiking, swimming, and to the beach. You can gather information on how your dog can enjoy a relaxing vacation at a pet-friendly resort, cabin or boating trip and other outdoor destinations, where you can spend hours with your friendly pet.

Before you plan to take your dog, you must take into consideration whether or not your dog have any special needs or limitations, enjoy being around other people or dogs, or is he or she quiet or can remain calm during your vacation experience. If your dog have limitations, you may want to consider taking him or her to a quiet lake vacation, instead of a bustling town or city, where he may not behave. You may also want to find out whether there will be extra fees at the hotel/motel, should your dog have to be kept on a leash, or whether they are allowed on pathways, walkways, or trails.

When you are set to go, you must pay attention to whether or not your dog is relaxed on a long ride, avoid getting car sick, and you may want to make frequent stops, to avoid potty troubles. You also want to make sure that you have brought a brush, tick or flea products, ID tags, and a blanket, so your dog will get and maintain the appropriate care.

Once you get to your destination, if you are planning to take a long walk or go hiking, you want to protect your dog’s feet and bring some booties, extra food and snacks, and if your are getting in or out of your vehicle- remember to roll down the window, so that your dog can get the appropriate air to breathe. After a few times you traveling with your dog, you will be well prepared for a perfect vacation with your four legged pet.
